Sukkary (or Sukkari) dates are a premium date variety originating primarily from Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia. Their name comes from the Arabic word Sukkur, which means “sugar”. Key Characteristics & Types Flavor and Texture: Known as the “Queen of Dates,” they feature a natural, honey-like sweetness with a melt-in-the-mouth texture. Variants: Available in soft/moist (Rutab) styles as well as firmer, drier varieties (Mufattal / Khareek). Appearance: Typically cone-shaped, ranging from golden-yellow to deep brown with creased skin.
